East London used to be an area that people avoided, but times have changed. Shoreditch, Haggerston, and Dalston are really great for a night out. Here are a few ideas to get you in the party mood if you are planning a big one at the weekend:
Clockwise from Top:
Prom Dress – Topshop – £70
Kitty iPhone cover – Etsy – £6.17
Aperol Spritz – Aperol – various
Pink strappy heels – Topshop – £58
Metallic bum bag – Urban Outfitters – £28
East London is a hub of style, so make sure you look the part! This is not the place to wear bandage dresses, hair extensions, or stilettoes. Londoners value a unique sense of style. Think Lily Allen with prom dresses, nail art, and cool trainers. Mix up prints, and be adventurous with colour! Topshop is always a favourite – at the moment they have a wide selection of fluoro dresses, as well as acid floral prints that are really in right now. Make sure you research your venue. There are loads of great clubs, but in summer, there is a trend for bars and outdoor drinks, where an Aperol Spritz is the drink of choice. The good thing about London style is that you can be quite practical. A bum bag is a great idea if you are going dancing, and want to keep all your valuables, such as your phone, cards, and keys close to hand. I love this petrol metallic one from Urban Outfitters – it’s so bad, it’s good! Always plan ahead, even if you are in a large group of friends. London is a big city, but it does get busy at the weekend, and it can be difficult to hail a taxi. A good idea is to pre book your taxi with a taxi app, so you get home safely.
